KLCC United 1 – 1 PC MTBE

It was supposed to be a comfortable win. On paper, it looked like a perfect chance for KLCC United to reignite their LBK campaign but instead, the match ended in a frustrating 1-1 draw that left players and fans equally disappointed.

From the opening whistle, United dominated the game, pushing forward and creating chances early on the first real opportunity came as early as the 5th minute. But what followed was a string of off-target shots, weak finishes, and heroic saves from the PC MTBE goalkeeper, who seemed to have luck and reflexes on his side.

Then, completely against the run of play, the opponent took the lead midway through the first half, leaving United stunned and scrambling to regain composure. The frustration grew as United’s play turned tasteless and disjointed, struggling to find rhythm despite their control of possession.

The second half resumed with a few substitutions, hoping to inject fresh energy into the offense but the spark just wouldn’t come. PC MTBE, a team still seeking their first win, suddenly looked inspired, pressing high and challenging every ball. It wasn’t that they played better but somehow, they outplayed United.

Then, in the dying stages, came a glimmer of relief. A brilliant cross from “Kuda Tua” Fauzi (PjH), freshly returning to support the team on an interim basis, found Jamri (KLCCUH), who coolly slotted it home to equalize. A goal that brought a moment of joy and a sigh of relief.

Still, it wasn’t enough. The match ended 1–1, another frustrating draw in a match United should have won with eyes closed.

Now, all eyes turn to the final group clash a must-win battle against GTC this weekend. Only victory will secure United a spot in the Semi Final Plate.
